What id Disk Quota in windows and how we can use Disk Quota?

Disk Quota: - A disk quota is a limit set by a system administrator that restricts certain aspects of file system usage on modern operating systems. The function of using disk quotas is to allocate limited disk space in a reasonable way. There are two basic types of disk quotas. The first, known as a usage quota or block quota, limits the amount of disk space that can be used. The second, known as a file quota or in node quota, limits the number of files and directories that can be created. In addition, administrators usually define a warning level, or soft quota, at which users are informed they are nearing their limit that is less than the effective limit, or hard quota. There may also be a small grace interval, which allows users to temporarily violate their quotas by certain amounts if necessary (Disk Quota is a storage management its provides to a particular or limited space to user in a Hard Disk Partition. its feature of NTFS (new technology file system)

To enable Disk Quotas:-
(1)  Select my computer -> Right click to disk volume for which you want to enable disk quota on select Properties. > Select Quota Tab > Select the Show Quota Setting Button.



To Configure Disk Quota:-
(1)  Open my computer
(2)  Select a Hard Disk Partition for enable disk quota
(3)  Select enable disk quota management
(4)  Select deny disk space disk limit
(5)  Set the storage limit
(6)  Click on quota entry
(7)  Click on quota
(8)  Select new entry
(9)  Select Advanced
(10) Select Find user Name for enabling disk quota
(11)  Select any user
(12)  Click on ok
(13)  Click on ok
(14) Set the limit again
(15) Click on apply
(16) Ok
